"I would like to extend my gratitude to both of you as well as to Solitude Builders for the efforts employed in constructing my residence near the Snowbasin Ski Resort in Northern Utah.

As you know, my father purchased property in the area when I was just a child. And, as a family, we would often travel there just to enjoy the wildlife and to take in the expansive views of the Upper Ogden Valley. And for some 35 years, I held onto the childish dream of eventually building there.

Over time, my perception of what might have eventually been built there went through a vast number of wide ranging iterations. But, in each of them I had always conceptualized a home that would reflect my own individual sense of style. And as a long-time lover of the land, I dreamed of building a residence that would not only be functional for myself and my family but that would also serve as an aesthetic enhancement to the environment upon which it was placed.

For me, contractor selection was extremely important due to the fact that I was initiating construction as a non-resident owner. For, I not only needed someone who would provide expert craftsmanship but who could also interface with me on a personal level during the construction process. During my search, I found that my idea of melding conventional construction with a rustic log emphasis took most builders to task. However, I was fortunate to find just such a contractor in Steve Young and Solitude Builders of Utah.

I look back in wonderment when I think about the kind of stress I must have placed upon Steve and his crew during construction. For, admittedly, I truly have an untrained eye for the amount of work involved in providing a quality product. However, I am a man who has exacting standards and was often known to have issued onsite changes to the existing plans.

In most instances those types of alterations would create work stoppages. However, I was pleased to find that Solitude’s workforce were not only proficient in their respective trades, but also showed the flexibility needed to satisfy my immediate concerns. During the process, I found that two of Steve’s most personable attributes were to be patience and a willingness to satisfy the needs of his client.

You not only managed to please an unyielding and demanding homeowner but you also created a stately residence that is filled with the meticulous craftsmanship of your own personal touch.
