Solitude Builders began in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, rebuilding a large dude ranch in 1971. During this time, we also started constructing other log and frame buildings in the surrounding Teton area, including assisting in the building of the Baldwin Ranch in Alta, Wyoming.

In the late 1970s, Alaska seemed like the best place to continue building quality homes. Here our homes were built in remote areas, where people wanted to maintain the beauty and solitude of their surroundings. Native trees were cut and hand-peeled, mostly onsite, with hand-scribed notches.

These ideals came full circle when Solitude Builders decided to return to Utah, and now the North Fork area of the Ogden Valley where the owner's family built their own home. You can find many of Solitude Builders' homes throughout Ogden Valley, Deer Valley, and Park City. These projects vary from simple cabins to custom-crafted homes, built using log and frame construction.

From the beginning it has been a hands-on form of building, with the belief that the clients' money would be used as if it was our own. Our reputation is built on honesty and caring--with attention to detail every step of the way.

Our employees have been with us for long periods of time, giving us the skill and knowledge to complete a variety of projects. We enjoy constructing everything from log mantels and staircase rails to intimate cabins and high-end custom homes.
